Boykins, Watkins on Weekly Honor Roll
Louisville, Ky. (Monday, October 17, 2011) – Brandon Boykin (Georgia) and Clemson’s Sammy Watkins have been named to the Paul Hornung Award Weekly Honor Roll. The weekly recognition honors versatile, single-game performances around the nation by FBS student-athletes.
The Paul Hornung Award, presented by Texas Roadhouse, is awarded annually to the most versatile player in major college football. Fans can now vote online at www.votepaulhornung.com for the finalist for the 2011 award.
Boykin, one of a select few player’s that has seen action on offense, defense and special teams this season, was selected to the Weekly Honor Roll for the fifth time following Georgia’s narrow win over Vanderbilt on the road. Watkins, a true freshman sensation for the undefeated Clemson Tigers, was selected for the first time.
Week Seven Selections to the Paul Hornung Award Weekly Honor Roll
• Georgia’s Brandon Boykin ran the ball one time and returned four kicks for 72 yards in a 33-28 win over Vanderbilt on Oct. 15. On defense, Boykin had five tackles, an interception and also a pass breakup in the win. Boykin’s interception in the end zone snuffed out an early Vanderbilt drive.
• Clemson’s Sammy Watkins had one carry for 33 yards, eight receptions for 105 yards with two touchdowns, one punt return and five kick returns for 207 yards with an 89-yard touchdown in a come from behind 56-45 win over Maryland on Oct. 15. His 345 all-purpose yards broke C.J. Spiller’s school record. When Clemson coach Dabo Swinney was asked about the victory he replied, “We had Sammy Watkins."

Paul Hornung Award presented by Texas Roadhouse
Created by the Louisville Sports Commission in 2010, the Paul Hornung Award presented by Texas Roadhouse is given annually to the most versatile player in major college football. The Award is designed to promote college football and help preserve the legacy of one of Kentucky's best-known and accomplished athletes who has always called Louisville home. Hornung, the 1956 Heisman Trophy winner at Notre Dame and NFL MVP for the Green Bay Packers, set a single season NFL scoring record that stood 46 years. Paul is a member of the College and Pro Football Halls of Fame, and Vince Lombardi once called Hornung, “The most versatile man ever to play the game.” A national selection committee comprised of 16 sports journalists and former NFL stars votes for the Hornung Award, and this year fan voting on Facebook powered by Texas Roadhouse will comprise the 17th vote. All votes are tabulated independently by regional accounting firm Dean Dorton Allen Ford. The winner is honored at a banquet presented by Jewish Hospital Sports Medicine in late January each year in downtown Louisville.
